It is not yet a form of medicine available through either mainstream channels or from most traditional or complementary therapists, but here at the “brave new horizons” of the frontiers of medical science, we get a chance to be involved in the early stages of a new epoch of medicine.
We are poised on the brink of the greatest revolution of medical practice in history: the bringing together into a single model of the best of existing traditions, under the cohesive theory and practice of a brilliant new paradigm.
It is based on the new application of General System Theory, first defined in 1956 by biologist Ludwig von Bertalanffy, to medicine.
This was achieved in 1999 when Savely Yurkovsky, M.D., first began teaching his new medical model of Field Control Therapy (FCT) – the first and only living example of Living Systems Medicine in the full sense of the term: applying all of the fundamental concepts of systems theory to medicine – including the nature, properties, behaviour and relations of each system and its key sub-systems and neighbouring systems.
In short, the result was the birth of a phenomenal new model for the practice of integrative medicine, one which simultaneously combines the best of conventional and alternative medicine while, at the same time, reaching forward beyond the previous limitations of both.
